Winter fourball

Hi Graham,
Thank you for your email below. The only correspondence I have had regarding this match up until your decision is printed below. Given the limited options now available I will play on my own on Saturday 18th March at 1.00pm.
Regards,
Mark Preston

He has spoken to the Club Secretary and been granted an extension to include the Easter Weekend (Friday 25th March to Monday 28th March). We can play on any of those days. Please let me know which of those days, if any, are suitable for you and John.

Gentleman
Regarding the match that you are due to play in the winter fourball which has a closing date of 20/03/16.
Representations were made to me by Bill for a one week extension on the closing date as the other pair Dave & John had not competed their previous round, this I granted which would have taken the closing date for the match to 27/03/16.
Dave & John in fact completed their match and have been waiting for Bill & Mark and have been available to play the match since 21/02/16 and will be available until the closing date for the current round 20/03/16.
I understand that the delay is now due to the fact that Bill is on holiday abroad and not due to return for another week as I understand on facts given to me.
Upon Bill's return Dave and John become unavailable to play.
Dave & John have spoken to the office about the situation and Dave has spoken to me.

I have considered the situation and have spoken to the manager Alex and we have discussed the matter and how to resolve it.

Our decision is that the match will be played by the closing date for the round of 20/03/16.
If either team is unable to play then they will scratch themselves from the competition and the opponents will go through.
If either team can only field one of the pair in the remaining time then the single will start 2 up and play against the opponents.
If both teams can only field one player then the game will be played as singles Matchplay.

The extension granted is cancelled.

This decision was taken as it is unreasonable for a pair to be available for 5 weekends to play and be 'handicapped' by only having one player available in the extended period when the opposing team have a member who has taken the majority of the time allocated for the round as holiday abroad.
